EDGE

Crisp, clean lines can often best describe a lyrical aesthetic within contemporary landscape design

ELEMENT DETAILS

  • Design dynamics: edges can create either curvilinear + straight, geometric lines of expression to reinforce the design intent.
  • Edge: 3-6″ vertical height @ 1/8 – 3/16″ mild steel typical thickness
  • Blunting: the top edge + corners can be rounded off by welding 3/8″ or 1/2″ round rod to the upper line.
  • Anchoring: steel edges are usually spiked into the ground with 1/2″ square rod that’s welded below grade to the fill-side.

DESIGN SUPPORT

The primary function of a steel edge is to separate one material condition from another as the landscape design may require. These elements are custom-cut on site, anchored + welded in place.  Edges can be used to define boundaries, transitions, passages + spaces.
