BASALT

A very hard form of igneous stone that’s regionally available from ancient volcanic deposits found mostly in the Chihuahuan Desert.

FINELY-CRUSHED BASALT

The finer grind of this material is quite comfortable to walk on, extremely durable + has a very distinctive blue-gray appearance.

TRESTLE ROCK

Referring to the embankments along train tracks, the trestle rock variety of Texas basalt gravel is a striking option for a feature stone or in a waterway.  This stone provides a similar visual profile to the costly + rare Mexican black beach stones at a more reasonable price for a native stone material.

DESIGN SUPPORT

Texas basalt is widely suitable as either active (occassional to high human programmed usage) or passive usage.  Due to coloration, heat-gain in full sun is very high.  Albedo (light reflectivity) is low.  Basalt is an incredibly durable material that is often used as the aggregate in Texas highways.  Our basalt has a dark blue-gray color profile.
