CEDAR

Actually, the name’s Ashe Juniper for this outstanding, rustic material that is underutilized in town. Ecotopes has only recently begun experimenting with using cedar in fencing, shade structures + vertical screens.  Resin helps protect the wood from decay.

OPTIONS

cedar can come shaggy with that rusty bark left on, stripped to reveal the sculptural wood below or cut into planks, known as bacon board.

DESIGN SUPPORT

Ashe juniper is a regionally sourced material that many landowners consider a nuisance, due mainly to the fact that the plant has grown over abundantly since wildfire has become suppressed.  Cedar offers a designer rich color + texture.  This local wood has been used for fencing, porch posts + ramparts for the entirety of the region’s history.
