altered ground
bright native plantings + turf contours envelop an architecturally-significant AlterStudio ADU in austin's hyde park
PROJECT DETAILS
completed: 2025
budget range: over $50,000
design scope: medium
within the classic hyde park context, complete with neighboring properties close by, ecotopes has sought to, not only tie together the client’s individual residential program, but also the surrounding neighborhood
our signature curvilinear fence panel, composed of steel strips, establishes a whisper of boundary without creating separation, only to reveal a welcoming hardwood deck at the main entrance to the structure
at the center, an inventive ADU designed by renowned AlterStudio soaks up the surrounding landscape, composed with inspiring visual perspectives, but also enjoyable outdoor elements — gravel paths give way to boldly contoured zoysia turf surfaces for family fun time
